Biggest USP of Ponniyin Selvan

The theatrical trailer of Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project, Ponniyin Selvan-1, received decent feedback from the moviegoers. Starring Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Prakash Raj, and Jayam Ravi in key roles, the film attempts to tell the story of India’s greatest empire, the Chola kingdom.

While some harsh critics found the trailer and the character introductions wishy-washy but one thing impressed one and all.

Yes, we are talking about Aishwarya Rai as Nandini. Her beauty and grace as the scheming Nandini mesmerized everyone who watched the trailer.

During the trailer launch, even Superstar Rajinikanth hyped Nandini’s character saying that Nandini’s character in PS-1 would be the highlight of the film. He also mentioned that the legendary role of Ramya Krishna as Neelambari in the 1999’s blockbuster, Padayappa( Narasimha in Telugu) was inspired by Nandini’s character from the Ponniyin Selvan novel.

Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, this magnum opus is gearing up for a grand release in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu languages on September 30th.
