Much awaited film Kannappa will soon be released on 25 April, 2025. With the release date so near, the marketing has started for the film starring Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Vishnu Manchu, Nayanthara and Mohan Babu.
Kannappa marks the Telugu debut of Akshay Kumar in which he will portray Lord Shiva second time after OMG 2. During the teaser release media persons asked him some questions on his ongoing controversies ever since his song Mahakal Chalo was released.

Akshay is a firm devotee of Shiva as he has shared on many occasions. In his music video for Mahakal Chalo he could be seen hugging the Shivling which many netizens feel was disrespectful.
He clarified that he has been taught that Shiva and Parvati are our parents and he feels immense love for them. For him this was just an act of devotion, it is the people with the wrong mindset who vulgarised it.
