Allu Arjun’s next, directed by Atlee, is already eagerly awaited across both South and North India. Tentatively referred to as AA22, the project has generated huge curiosity, even though the makers have not yet released any official promotional content.
Adding to the excitement, Atlee recently dropped a subtle hint about the film on social media. He shared a striking lion poster, where the face of the lion appears split into two contrasting halves. Along with it, he wrote a line suggesting individuality as strength, which has sparked widespread speculation among fans. Many believe this could indicate that Allu Arjun might be playing a dual role or a character with layered shades and a complex arc.
Some believe that Atlee was taking a dig at Dhurandhar 2 looking at the timing. While many industry figures from the South are congratulating Aditya Dhar over Dhurandhar’s historic box office success, Atlee chose to share a lion poster. Some believe he is trying to imply that his film with Allu Arjun will show box office’s real potential.
At the same time, discussions have also emerged about Atlee’s filmmaking style. While he has delivered massive blockbusters like Jawan, some cinephiles remain skeptical and often describe his films as star-driven commercial entertainers with limited creativity and novelty. They accuse his films of being copied from many Shankar and Hollywood films. This project is now seen as a massive opportunity for Atlee to prove his critics wrong with a fresh and mind-blowing narrative.
With Allu Arjun’s pan-India appeal and Atlee’s mass storytelling style, trade analysts expect the film to cross at least Rs.1000 crores, but after Dhurandhar, fans expectations have gone much beyond 1000 crores.
The makers are reportedly planning to release the first teaser on April 8 on Allu Arjun’s birthday.
Whether the lion poster truly reveals the nature of Allu Arjun’s character or is Atlee getting insecure of Aditya Dhar’s praise and Dhurandhar 2‘s collections remain to be seen.
