Ram’s new film Andhra King Taluka dropped its first teaser the other day, and one particular dialogue has gone viral. The film is themed around the life of a diehard fan, and the dialogue goes: “ఫ్యాన్… ఫ్యాన్… అంటూ నువ్వు గుడ్డలు చింపేసుకోవడమే కానీ… నువ్వు ఒకడు ఉన్నావని కూడా… ఆ హీరోకి తెలియదు. ఏం బ్రతుకులురా మీవి.. చి..చి.”
This line instantly struck a chord on social media and gave the teaser the buzz it needed. Interestingly, the dialogue is being widely shared by the same toxic fan groups who spend their days abusing others online in the name of their favorite stars.
The reason the dialogue connected so instantly is simple: it is so relatable. Many fans live their lives obsessing over their heroes, fighting filthy abusive fan wars online, wasting time and energy, while their favorite stars barely even know they exist. These so called star heroes praise their fandoms during pre-release events, call them their “life,” and “Prekhaka Devullu”. etc but once the job is done, these fans are left with nothing but blind devotion.
What makes this dialogue even more interesting is that Ram, who doesn’t have a massive fan base like some top stars, chose to highlight this uncomfortable truth through his film. No other star hero would dare to say something like this in their own movie, because they would never risk hurting the same fans who do the slavery and everything for them.
This one dialogue has done the job for the teaser but it is making a louder statement and reflects the harsh reality for the youth who are indulging and wasting their precious time, energy, and lives.
