Anees Bazmee Akshay Kumar film

Director Anees Bazmee’s upcoming film with Akshay Kumar has received fresh updates. Actress Vidya Balan has already been finalised for the project.

According to a tweet by Kamaal R Khan, Anees Bazmee has now approached three more actresses. These include Disha Patani, Raashii Khanna, and Fatima Sana Sheikh.

Reports state that the script has been narrated to all three actresses. Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna have reportedly agreed to do the film, but negotiations are still ongoing.

Disha Patani is said to be demanding not less than Rs. 2 crores as her remuneration. In contrast, Raashii Khanna is reportedly willing to do the film for Rs. 1 crore, creating a clear difference in cost.

Anees Bazmee is known for delivering entertaining films on controlled budgets. He appears keen to maintain the same approach, especially since the original Telugu film Sankrantiki Vastunnam was made on a budget of Rs. 50 crores.

However, rising actor fees could change the situation. This issue has troubled Bollywood over the last two years, with several high-hype films failing to recover their investments.

Akshay Kumar’s recent films have also struggled to cross the Rs. 50–100 crore mark. Netizens feel that even this collaboration may not work unless costs are strictly controlled.

Many online users have suggested that Anees Bazmee opt for profit-sharing models. They believe this could be a safer option instead of paying heavy upfront fees.

Anees Bazmee is expected to finalise one of the three actresses soon. The decision will depend on who best fits the female roles originally played by Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary.

Hindi remakes or adaptations are often closely scrutinised by audiences. Therefore, Anees Bazmee will need to be cautious at every stage to ensure the film’s success.

For now, the makers have maintained silence. More clarity is expected in the coming days regarding the final casting.
