Are multi-starrers the next big thing in Telugu cinema?

All heroes of the long forgotten era such as NTR, ANR, Sobhan Babu and others never had issues to work together, but it was not the same with actors of today’s generation until few years back. Finally, the jinx has been broken with films such as “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu” and “Tadakha”. Following the success of these two films, every other actor now aspires to work together.

One of the biggest advantages of multi-starrers is that the actors can cash in on the popularity of their fan base. Some of the examples of upcoming multi-starrers include “Garam Masala”, “Baahubali” and “Rudhramadevi”, among few more in the offing.

While the success rates of these films in the recent past has been high, trade pundits also believe they ride high on risk. If they fail, losses run into crores.
