The month of August will see some big, medium, and small budget films trying their luck at the box office. Irrespective of their budgets, all films are extremely crucial for their heroes.
Starting with Megastar’s Bholaa Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh. After a spate of flops, Megastar’s last film, Waltair Veerayya, was a huge blockbuster. Bholaa Shankar needs to work to maintain his winning streak. For Mehere Ramesh, this is a do-or-die film.
Rajinikanth hasn’t delivered a blockbuster for a long, long time. He is coming up with a prison drama titled Jailer, directed by Nelson, whose last film, Beast, was a flop.
Naveen Polishetty’s last film, Jathi Ratnalu, was a blockbuster, but there has been a huge gap since then. His next Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, has to work for Naveen to make his presence felt as a dependable hero.
Gandeevadhari Arjuna is a very crucial film for Varun Tej and director Praveen Sattaru, whose last films were mega disasters. Hero Karthikeya is banking on Bedurulanka 2012 to re-launch himself in Tollywood after having a bad run after his debut RX 100.
Srikanth Addala faced a never-before kind of negativity after Brahmotsavam tanked badly at the box office. This month’s release, Peddha Kapu, is his first theatrical release in eight years. He had Naarappa in between, but that was on OTT. He has to deliver big time to survive in the industry.
After the forgettable Bhaag Saale, MM Keeravani’s son Simha Koduri is trying his luck once again with Ustaad directed by Phanideep releasing this month. This film will pave his future in Tollywood.
Let’s hope there are more surprises and fewer disappointments this month, as Tollywood needs big hits after the underperformance of films like Adipurush and Bro.
