The cinema halls across South India are operating to full capacity, but that isn’t stopping direct to OTT releases. Interestingly, the makers of Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan‘s Salute have decided to skip theatrical release and go for direct to OTT release.
The direct to OTT rights of Salute were acquired by Sony Liv and the platform announced the film’s premieres date a short while ago. As per the official communication, Salute will be streaming on Sony Liv from the 18th of this month.
“Salute will be streaming on SonyLIV from Mar 18th in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.” Sony Liv stated.
Dulquer is no stranger to the Telugu audience. He was seen in one of the lead roles in Mahanati. His recent bilingual, Hey Sinamika hit the silver screens in the Telugu states as well.
Salute has an interesting trailer cut and the film might have had a good shot at the cherry had it released in theatres. But for some reason, the makers went for direct to OTT release. The film is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and it has Dulquer in the role of a police officer.
