Mani Ratnam

Veteran Tamil filmmaker Mani Ratnam made a sizeable comeback with Ponniyin Selvan which was a big hit at the Tamil box office. The two-part franchise cumulatively yielded profits to Tamil buyers. Buoyed by the same, Mani Ratnam then announced Thug Life with Kamal Haasan.

Thug Life was proposed to be made on a big scale and the likes of Dulquer Salman and Jayam Ravi were roped in to play the other lead roles in the film.

But this project is starting to lose its sheen as there are reports that both Dulquer Salman and Jayam Ravi have dropped out of the project due to various reasons.

Though Mani delivered a hit with Ponniyin Selvan, he is failing to retain his heroes for his immediate next film, Thug Life, and that too with a veteran star like Kamal Haasan in the lead role.

Thug Life had a good teaser that caught the attention with its visual appeal and making values. But the film is losing its prominence with the departure of main men who were initially associated with the same.
