After a spate of flops, Akshay Kumar is returning with the sequel to his 2012 hit film, OMG. The film was also remade in Telugu as Gopala Gopala, with Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh. OMG 2 stars Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, and Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam feature in supporting roles.
OMG was a big hit at the box office, but over the years, the film has come under severe criticism for showing the Hindu religion in a poor light. The sequel was already being targeted by a section of the audience even before the teaser was out. So the makers released a trailer that showed only Shiv Bhakti to appease Hindus and cleverly tried to hide the real theme of the film.
According to the reports, the film is based on sex education and the LGBTQ agenda. So the makers tried to fool the audience by showing only those portions of the film in the teaser that showed Lord Shiva’s glory. But yesterday, the censor board refused to pass the film. They have asked the filmmakers to go to a revision committee.
The CBFC does not want to repeat the severe backlash they got after they passed Adipurush’s dialogues and scenes. The board will take a decision on Oh My God 2 after the board’s revising committee. They want to make sure the content of the film doesn’t hurt Hindu sentiments in any way.
After this news came out, the audience became aware that the film is based on sex education, and all the efforts of the makers to hide the real theme of the film fell flat on their faces. Now the ball is in the audience’s court if they want to see a film that teaches the importance of sex education in schools disguised as a film praising Lord Shiva.
