Bus Stop Girl to receive honours

sri divya won the awardLike many Telugu girls, Telugu actress Sri Divya too migrated to Tamil Film Industry because inspite of scoring a hit film like ‘Bus stop’ and a performance oriented role like in ‘Mallela Teeramlo Sirimalle Chettu’, she didn’t get good offers in TFI. Now she has turned the medium budget films’ goddess with her super successful Tamil film ‘Varutha Padutha Vaalibar Sangham’, remade in Telugu as ‘Current Theega’.

Once again, Sri Divya’s name came into Telugu media and cine circles for her Telugu film ‘Mallela Theeramlo Sirimalle Chettu’. Her performance won her lot of accolades though the film couldn’t score a decent hit, limited to minimum theatrical release. For this film, Sri Divya is chosen for the Best Actress Award. The Bharata Muni Awards for the year 2013 were announced and Naresh ( for Raghupati Venakayya Naidu) was chosen as the Best Actor.

Besides Sri Divya and Naresh, Brahmanandam, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Tanikella Bharani and Nadiya were chosen for best comedian (Mirchi), best villain (Nayak), best character artist male (Aadi Shankaracharya) and best character artist female (Atharintiki Daaredi) respectively. Raghupathi Venkayya Naidu and Aadi Shankaracharya were chosen for Best social films categories while Attarintiki Daaredi was chosen as the ‘Most Popular Film’, ‘Venkatadri express’ as the ‘Best Comedy Film’. Devi Sri Prasad, SP Balu and Pranavi are also amongst the chosen ones for various categories. The award event will happen on 14 th December in Potti Sriramulu University, Nampally.
