Jr. NTR’s solo movie ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’ came out in 2018, and his fans have been demanding the completion of the shoot for his film ‘Devara’ to release soon, as the majority of fans believe he wasted his prime time on a multi-starrer, followed by a big delay due to Koratala’s ‘Acharya’ issues.
Now that the ‘Devara’ team has officially announced the release date, it comes with a big challenge in overseas markets, especially in the U.S., where revenues matter for a big-star film.
If ‘Devara’ releases on October 10th, 2024, as announced, the film will have a very difficult time securing theaters in the U.S., as Warner Bros.’ ‘Joker 2’ will release a week before on October 4, 2024.
‘Joker’ is a cult film in the Hollywood circuit, making it an extremely daunting task for the U.S. distributor to give a bigger release to ‘Devara’, especially in big-screen formats like XD, IMAX, etc.
This is where the U.S. distributor’s experience and credibility come into play. It’s not the end of the road, but extra effort is needed to convince big theater chains and secure more screens.
Also, there is a good possibility that ‘Devara’ might shift the announced October 10, 2024, date as well.
