Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in Telugu in Sita Ramam. The film went on to become a big hit. The film had decent content which was liked by the audiences but no one expected it to rake in the numbers which it eventually did during its box office run.
A film starring a Malayalam hero, an unknown heroine from the North, a dull genre, and a not-so-successful director, went on to become one of the biggest hits of last year. There are not many such instances in recent times or even in the past that a film with so many things going against it worked in such a big way.
The timing of its release was one of the huge factors that worked in favor of Sita Ramam. The film enjoyed a long run at the box office which very few films enjoy.
Now, Dulquer is doing another film in Telugu that was launched yesterday. It will be directed by Venky Atluri for the Sithara Entertainment banner.
It is next to impossible for any film to get as lucky as Sita Ramam. So it will be interesting to see if this film of Dulquer in the direction of Venky Atluri will also perform like Sita Ramam at the box office.
