This Sankranthi, there are multiple new films pitted against each other. While Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram is the only superstar film, we have the likes of Saindhav, Hanuman, and Naa Saami Ranga in the lineup. There is also a flurry of dubbed films, including Dhanush’s Captain Miller.
The trailer for Captain Miller was unveiled today and it boasts of grade-A making values. The slick visuals and the winning BGM work very well, along with the action shots. It promises to be a proper engrossing mass actioner.
While Captain Miller might not be a typical Sankranthi film, what must be noted is that Dhanush is building a stable market in Telugu. His previous film, Sir did very well here. So, Captain Miller might well reach its target audience in Telugu.
Incidentally, Captain Miller is releasing along with Guntur Kaaram. The theatrical release date is locked at 12th January, the same day as Mahesh’s film. This winning trailer sure works in favor of the film.
There is a logistical issue here as there are reports that Captain Miller might not release in Telugu on the same day as the Tamil version – 12th January due to the lack of availability of theaters in Telugu states. But the makers are still pushing for simultaneous release in both languages. Nevertheless, Captain Miller can be a good choice for a section of the audience this Sankranthi.
