Chandramukhi 2: Sequel Or Spoof?

The trailer for P Vasu and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Chandramukhi 2’ was unveiled last evening. The movie’s trailer launch took place in Chennai on Sunday.

Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role of Chandramukhi and serves as a dancer in the court of Vettaiyan Raja, played by Ragava Lawrence.

However, many viewers find the trailer to be more of a parody of the original ‘Chandramukhi’ from 2005. The cast, their appearances, and the movie’s theme all seem like a spoof version of the original. The horror doesn’t look scary or haunting enough, and the jokes fall flat.

Kangana Ranaut’s performance looks cringe-worthy, and nowhere comes close to the iconic performance by Jyothika.

Technically also, the film doesn’t look to match the current standards, the VFX of the animals being the worst. The overall film looks outdated and gives the vibe of ‘Nagavalli’ more than Chandramukhi.

However, the film’s family-friendly plot, Vadivelu, and established brand value might help it rise above the cringe factor and find some audience.
