Chinmayi Fights Misogyny and Sexual Myths

Chinmayi Challenges Misogyny and Sexual MythsOn Wednesday evening, singer cum MeToo activist Chinmayi once again reacted with a series of tweets to a misogynistic comment by one doctor on social media.

An SRK fan girl on Twitter wrote, “The more sexual partners you have, the more you’ll be aware of what you like and do not like in bed, and you’ll be able to communicate that to your spouse more clearly, leading to a very healthy sex life.”

A ‘male’ doctor quote tweeted her reply, “These woke kids will turn families into prostitution! What a disgusting growth! Somebody teach them Bhagwat Geeta or any other Holy book, please. Having multiple sexual partners is not the problem; the problem is in your pseudo-feminist mindset, which makes you proud about it, and trying to make it a norm in society! It’s neither fit mentality Medically nor fit psychologically!”

Chinmayi then came into the picture and then quote tweeted, “I have been watching this about male doctors taking a very interesting stand, but this is the most quizzical. Having many sexual partners makes one medically unfit? I am genuinely and humbly asking to understand how this is ‘medically unfit.’”

The doctor replied under her tweet, “There is a term called sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) which spreads through multiple sexual partners for which one doesn’t need a degree in medicine. I rest my case here.”

Then Chinmayi ended the convo by saying, “That is when one doesn’t have protected sex. That is not what I asked you. Why are you, as a medical professional, judging people’s sex lives? Would you actually treat a sex worker like Pith just because she is a sex worker? Still doesn’t explain how multiple sex partners make one person ‘medically unfit’ or ‘psychologically unfit.’ You have literally given a certificate of mental health without even a diagnosis and slandered about prostitution.”
