This Sankranthi, his film Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu is set to hit theatres. He is coming after a long break of almost two and a half years. His fantasy-based film Viswambhara, which has been lying in cans for two years due to pending VFX work, is also gearing up for a summer release. At the same time, Chiranjeevi is also preparing to begin another new film, highlighting his renewed energy and strong commitment to work.
After Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Chiranjeevi is confirmed to reunite with director Bobby Kolli. Initially, the team planned to formally launch the project soon after Sankranthi, with a pooja ceremony scheduled for the 18th of this month and shooting expected to begin in February.
However, the plans have now been revised. The formal launch has been pushed to February, and regular shooting is likely to commence only from March. The primary reason for this delay is Chiranjeevi’s recent knee surgery. Doctors have advised him to take adequate rest for a few weeks, prompting the team to adjust the schedule accordingly.
Meanwhile, the makers are busy finalizing the cast and technical crew. There is strong buzz that another major star may share screen space with Chiranjeevi in this project. Since his comeback in 2017, Chiranjeevi has been pushing makers to cast another hero in his films so that the project becomes more commercially viable. This was seen in Waltair Veerayya and now in Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu.
Reports suggest the actor could be from another language industry, though no official confirmation has been made so far. An announcement is expected soon. Fans expect there is no long gap again.
