Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Bobby Kolli are teaming up once again to entertain audiences. Their previous collaboration, Waltair Veerayya (2023), was a major hit at the box office. Now, after two and a half years, the duo is reuniting for another exciting project. Every few days, new updates about the movie are surfacing, and the latest one suggests that a Bollywood star might play a key role in it.
According to reports, filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap from Bollywood is set to join the cast. Director Bobby has reportedly written a powerful villain role specifically for him. If finalized, this will mark Anurag Kashyap’s first-ever Telugu film.
The acclaimed director, who made his acting debut in Tamil cinema with Maharaja last year, impressed everyone with his intense negative role in that film. His natural acting and strong screen presence convinced Bobby to cast him opposite Chiranjeevi. The makers believe that the face-off between Chiranjeevi and Anurag on screen will create electrifying moments, especially in the action sequences.
However, Bobby Kolli has a pattern of coming up with extraordinary ideas but not always executing them to their full potential. In his last film Daaku Maharaaj, he cast Bobby Deol, who was riding high on the massive hype he received for his villainous role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.
Expectations were sky-high, but unfortunately, Bobby Kolli couldn’t make the best use of Bobby Deol’s presence. Instead of giving him a standout character, he was portrayed as a fairly routine villain with limited depth.
If the news about Anurag Kashyap turns out to be true, fans hope Bobby has learned from that experience and will fully tap into Anurag’s acting brilliance. Anurag is known for his raw, intense performances and his ability to bring complex, grey-shaded characters to life.
If Bobby manages to shape a well-written, fearsome, and layered antagonist and gives Anurag the creative space to perform, the result could be explosive. With Chiranjeevi’s screen dominance and Anurag’s unpredictable energy, their clash could deliver one of the most powerful hero-villain face-offs in recent Telugu cinema.
There are also reports that another major hero will join the cast, with Tamil star Karthi being considered for that role but these are mere speculations as of now.
