The ‘Hanu Man’ theaters’ controversy has taken center stage in Tollywood, generating heated discussions over the allocation of only four single screens in Hyderabad for the film.
Megastar Chiranjeevi, who graced the pre-release event as the chief guest, addressed the theater controversy by emphasizing the significance of Sankranti and expressing confidence that quality content, coupled with divine blessings, would ensure the film’s success.
Drawing parallels to past experiences, Chiranjeevi emphasized that Sankranti, being a favorable season, could accommodate numerous movies, with success hinging on content rather than logistical challenges like theater availability.
Chiru turned a bit diplomatic when he recounted a similar scenario with Dil Raju’s ‘Satamanam Bhavathi,’ which, despite being a smaller film, thrived during Sankranti due to its strong content despite competition from Khaidi No 150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni.
Chiranjeevi announced that the team of Hanu Man had decided a donation of Rs 5 from each ‘Hanuman’ movie ticket to the construction of the Ram Mandir.
However, the controversy deepened as producer and distributor Natti Kumar criticized Film Chamber elders, accusing them of a dual attitude in theater allocation. He pointed fingers at Dil Raju and Sunil Narang, alleging bias toward their own films and emphasizing the need for fair distribution based on a movie’s merit and audience anticipation.
Natti Kumar urged the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to intervene, seeking justice for ‘Hanu Man’ and equitable treatment for both big and small films.
