Chiru-Bobby Mega158 Title Fixed? Fans Not Convinced

Chiranjeevi Kaakaji film update

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film with Bobby is already creating strong buzz, and now a new update has made fans even more curious.

The latest talk in industry circles is about the film’s title. Reports suggest that the makers are seriously considering the name Kaakaji. Though these rumors have been going on since January 2026, it now seems the title has been almost finalized. It is not a typical mass title you would expect for a Chiranjeevi film. That itself is why it is creating doubts. Some fans like its uniqueness, while others are unsure if it suits his image.

According to current buzz, the story is set in a Bengal backdrop, where Chiranjeevi plays a powerful character known as “Kaakaji.” The film is said to mix strong father-daughter emotions with mass action elements, which is a space Bobby Kolli is comfortable with.

Initially, the shoot was planned to begin on April 20, but due to the producer facing issues with Toxic and Jana Nayagan, it has now been pushed to May. Despite a few rumors, the project is still continuing under the same production house, KVN, with Chiranjeevi fully on board.

Pre-production work is already done, including look tests and photoshoots. The team is now preparing to start shooting soon with proper planning.

The casting has also added to the hype. Priyamani is expected to play the female lead, while names like Mohanlal and Anurag Kashyap are said to be part of important roles. Anil Kapoor was initially considered for the villain’s role, but there is no official confirmation on whether he is still part of the film.

Music is being composed by AR Rahman. Though his work of late has been considered inconsistent, he delivered the chartbuster Chikiri song in Peddi. Because of that, the team is confident about Rahman delivering an exciting score and a strong background score.

At the same time, there are a few doubts. A title like Kaakaji is different, but will it connect with mass audiences? Also, combining emotional drama with mass action is not easy. It needs proper balance. Otherwise, the film’s uneven tone can turn out to be jarring.

There is also some pressure because of Waltair Veerayya. That film received mixed response, but at the box office it was a blockbuster. So, fans expect Bobby Kolli will not repeat those mistakes and come up with a more satisfying film, not a half-baked one. Expectations are not just high, but also more demanding this time.

The project looks interesting on paper and slightly different from the usual. But whether these choices actually work will depend on execution. Right now, curiosity is high, but so are doubts.
