This statement could be interpreted as a subtle and sly dig on Rajinikanth’s film, “Jailer,” which received much acclaim for Anirudh’s powerful BGM that elevated Rajinikanth’s heroism and made the audience go berserk even during scenes where he was merely walking. Chiranjeevi is kinda trying to belittle such heroism elevated by background score.
After his comeback in 2017, except for Sye Raa, none of the films that Chiranjeevi did were worthy of him doing them. He tried to play it very safe by doing remakes and crowd -friendly films which didn’t yeld him any good name or results.
Instead of putting his efforts to act, dance, and fight in such mediocre films, he should have chosen a film that would suit his stature and age.
However strong it may be, no BGM can elevate a weak script and a lousy narration. And in contrast, a weak BGM can dilute a strong script and powerful performances.
It’s time for Chiranjeevi to stop undermining the success of his contemporaries, realize his mistakes and come up with films which a legend like him deserves.
