The Indian box office has seen one of its biggest crossover clashes with the arrival of Coolie and War 2. However, the result has been far from impressive as neither film has managed to dominate strongly.

Coolie has fared relatively better, given its lower theatrical business and stronger opening numbers. In contrast, War 2 is turning out to be a disaster of major scale, with buyers set to lose money and the main distributor facing heavy setbacks.
The much-hyped clash that was expected to bring massive collections has instead turned into a contest of losses. Conversations are now centred on which film will end up inflicting greater financial damage in different regions.
The performance in the Telugu states has been especially disappointing. While Coolie is slightly better placed due to its positioning, War 2 has been a complete washout. Both films have failed to win over Telugu audiences.
The general opinion is that NTR took an unnecessary gamble with this Hindi film, and it has backfired badly. After his consistent success since Temper, this misstep is being seen as a poor judgment that he did not need at this stage.
