The Cyberabad traffic police have come up with an idea to to recover pending fines. They are now equipped with Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) on ORR and the entire Cyberabad area. The PDA whenever violator is caught will give his/her entire history of violations and the motorists will have to pay the fine for all violations. Officials said that this idea have helped them recover 60 per cent of the pending fines.
The integrated system has the option to swipe credit and debit cards.Police now are also thinking on the lines of linking the database of all stolen vehicles to the PDA system, so that whenever a vehicle is caught for violations its ownership details can be checked, which is impossible in the manual system. With the huge success, government is planning to extend this system to Hyderabad Traffic Police too.
