The run-up to Dasara 2026 is slowly turning into a crowded festive season, with several big films lining up within a short gap. With star heroes and major projects entering the race, competition for screens and audience attention is already looking interesting.
The festive run begins early with Nani’s The Paradise, currently scheduled for September 24. October 2 is already getting crowded, with Sundeep Kishan’s Sigma and Venkatesh’s Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 in the race. Two releases on the same day could make the Gandhi Jayanti weekend an interesting battle.
The competition gets tighter from there. Comrade Kalyan is targeting October 9, adding another release to the lineup. While the bigger star power comes with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which has officially locked October 15. Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara is also reportedly targeting October 16, although that date is yet to be officially confirmed, Dhanush’s OM Chapter 1 is also scheduled for October 16.
That means the run-up to Dasara and the Dasara period could see releases arriving almost every week. The Paradise on September 24, Sigma and Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 on October 2, Comrade Kalyan on October 9, followed by Jailer 2 on October 15 and Dhanush’s OM Chapter 1, along with potentially Vishwambhara, on October 16.
The advantage is that a strong festive window can accommodate multiple films if they connect with audiences. With releases packed so closely together, screen allocation, audience division and the strength of the word-of-mouth will become major factors.
If these plans hold, the run-up to Dasara and the holiday period could turn into one of the busiest box-office stretches of the season, with every film fighting for its share of the audience.
