December Sentiment: Can Pushpa 2 Break It?

Historically, the December season is usually lucrative for Indian films. The likes of Pushpa, KGF, Animal and Salaar have released in the month of December previously and went great guns at the box office.

However, the issue is that not a single December release has touched Rs 1000 crores til now.

Animal came agonisingly close to this mark but it ended its run at the Rs 900 crore global gross mark. It couldn’t quite go to the Rs 1000 crore club.

Incidentally, Pushpa 2 is now gearing up for release this December and the film could well be the first Rs 1000 crore grosser in the month of December.

Allu Arjun has a lot riding on Pushpa 2 as the makers announced that the film would be heading for release on the 5th of December with the release date getting preponed by a day. The film has been moved from December 6 to December 5.

Animal stands as the biggest December release thus far and the chances are that Pushpa 2 could break the same and stand as the first 1000 crore grosser.
