Deepika Padukone has made a fresh statement on pay disparity, and her comments are already making people connect the dots with Spirit.
The actress revealed that she recently walked away from a big film after knowing how much the male star in the project was being paid. Deepika reportedly felt that her own recent success rate was stronger and quoted a remuneration that she believed matched her market value. When the makers said they could not afford it, she decided to leave rather than compromise.
Deepika did not name the film or the actor. But there is one obvious project that has immediately come back into the discussion, that’s Spirit, the Prabhas starrer from Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Deepika Padukone was originally attached to Spirit before exiting the project, and her departure has recently become a major talking point again following fresh claims from producer Pranay Reddy Vanga about the remuneration and profit-sharing discussions.
Now, Deepika saying that she knew what the male star was being paid and believed her own success rate was better is bound to make fans wonder if she was referring to Prabhas.
