Devara 2 Stuck? Koratala Siva Couldn’t Have Asked Better

Koratala Siva and Balakrishna film buzz

The much-discussed Koratala Siva’s Devara 2 has slipped into uncertainty, leaving Jr. NTR fans hanging in doubt. Nearly two years have passed since the first film’s release, yet there is still no clarity.

While Jr. NTR had earlier indicated interest in continuing the sequel, he is now fully occupied with Prashanth Neel’s Dragon. Its release has been officially pushed to June 11, 2027, effectively locking NTR’s schedule for a long period and making it difficult for Devara 2 to begin anytime soon.

Initially, there were strong expectations that Devara 2 would go on floors this year. However, with NTR committed to a long-term project, those plans have clearly stalled.

At this stage, the sequel exists more as an intention than an active project. In the absence of any official statement, speculation continues to dominate, and its future remains uncertain. Fans now feel it is as good as shelved for the time being, as the latest developments suggest.

At the same time, director Koratala Siva appears to be moving forward rather than waiting. He has reportedly begun exploring other opportunities. Industry buzz suggests that he has narrated a script to Nandamuri Balakrishna, who has responded positively. If things progress, this combination could be announced soon.

This potential project will be extremely crucial for Koratala Siva. After Acharya and even Devara, his credibility and relevance are at high risk, and opportunities with top-tier younger stars will not come easily now. In that context, a film with Balakrishna appears to be a golden opportunity. He cannot ask for a better hero than Balayya for his film at this stage of his career.

Balakrishna, on the other hand, is currently in a strong phase in his career. Apart from a rare setback like Akhanda 2, he has been delivering consistently successful films. His films, when backed by conviction, grandiose, and scale, are also finding acceptance among younger Gen Z audiences.

More importantly, Balakrishna has the screen presence and versatility to headline the kind of powerful narratives Koratala Siva is known for. Whether it is a savior figure, a social reformer, or a man standing against the system, this combination has the potential to deliver a strong mass entertainer.

If the film works, it could bring Koratala Siva back into the big league. If it does not, it could further complicate his standing in the industry and may even mark the end of any possibility to make a comeback as a big director. The project is rumored to be produced by Cherukuri Sudhakar, although there is no official confirmation yet.
