Dhanush’s Raanjhanaa has reportedly collected INR 20.08 crore in the opening weekend at the box-office. This definitely means he has better days in store in Bollywood. Touted to be made on a budget of INR 35 crore, Raanjhanaa seems to have broken even in the first weekend itself. This is definitely one of the best dream debuts for a south Indian in Bollywood.
Even Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam couldn’t collect INR 20 crore in its opening weekend. Best part about Raanjhanaa is that everybody, fans and critics alike lauded the performance of Dhanush, for whom this was an acid test.
The question is does this strengthen Dhanush’s position in Bollywood even though he doesn’t aspire a future here. We hope that it does and he has a bright career here as well.
