Among all these biopic films only Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has been a massive success and now Dhoni is next big one. The film has set new records among biopic films by crossing 60 Cr collections over the weekend itself. If the weekday collections of weekdays follow the same pattern one is looking at 100 Cr from the weekend itself. This will be more than all biopic collections except that of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which is just above 100 Cr.
MS Dhoni The Untold Story is a costly film starring a relatively unknown star Sushanth Singh Rajput. All the collections the film is getting, therefore, is attributed to the star power and brand name of Dhoni. The cricketer is popular no doubt but the success is making many think if other star cricketer biopic films could garner similar response or not. Or is this a case of the perfectly timed biopic?
