With only a day left for release, every industry expert is discussing whether Dhurandhar 2 will break all the box office records. The debate has taken a different turn now, specifically after regular bookings started around two days ago.
More than six lakh tickets have been sold for paid previews, and the gross collections are expected to be almost Rs. 30 crores. The sales have touched the mark of Rs. 15 crores for the first day of release, with almost three lakh tickets purchased so far.
Overall, ten lakh tickets are sold now, and this is supposed to lead to a revenue of around Rs. 40 crores. The numbers are expected to increase by the next 24 hours, and the figure could be bigger than everyone’s imagination.
A new report by Pinkvilla on Monday, March 16, stated that around Rs. 12 crores net have been added to the overall figures, bringing it to a total of Rs. 47 crores net collections in India. The complete figure now stands at Rs. 50 crores, with Rs. 2 crores coming from the dubbed versions in India alongside Rs. 22 crores from paid previews.
The upcoming Saturday has also shown a good growth, with tickets worth Rs. 6 crores sold so far. National multiplex chains have reported sales of almost 75%. The ongoing situation has hinted that Dhurandhar 2 might break the advance booking collection of Jawan, which was Rs. 55 crores.
The opening day numbers, including the paid previews, could be around Rs. 100 crores, if there is a larger walk-in audience in the last minute. Everything will depend on what happens before the paid previews start from 5 p.m. on March 18.
It can be clearly said that the numbers are going to be outstanding, and it could be a figure that no big superstar will be able to break in the upcoming few months or years. Double-digit figures are expected to be maintained this time on the weekdays, where collections could be more than Rs. 30-40 crores.
A blockbuster tag is guaranteed for Dhurandhar 2 right now. But the real question is whether it will be able to take the throne in the first extended weekend or it will take another week for the same achievement.
