Box Office: IPL Effect, No Chance For ATR?

Dhurandhar 2 box office trend

Dhurandhar 2 has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. The film is performing well in theatres, but its overall collections are slightly below the massive expectations.

Despite crossing ₹1000 crore in its opening weekend, the film could not maintain that initial momentum. Factors like its long runtime and the start of the Indian Premier League season have impacted its daily collections.

Reports suggest the film may finish its run close to ₹1500 crore worldwide. A strong performance in the Hindi belt is helping it sustain a steady run.

The film collected around ₹58 crore in the Hindi market on its second Sunday. This shows that it still has strong support in North India and may continue to perform well there.

However, the situation is different in the South markets. Collections in Telugu states, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have seen noticeable drops, affecting the overall numbers.

The ongoing IPL season has also started impacting evening and night shows. This trend may continue for the next few weeks, limiting further growth at the box office.

On the positive side, the film has set a new record in North America by crossing $21 million. It has surpassed Baahubali 2 in that market.

However, in the global context, the Ranveer Singh starrer is still behind major record holders like Dangal, Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2.
