Dhruv Rathee Attacks Dhurandhar 2: Will Audience Care?

Dhurandhar 2 controversy debate online

As Dhurandhar 2 is roaring at the cinemas, the hype and overall excitement for the sequel were off the charts, and it has proven to be a spectacle so far.

While the film faced a lot of challenges during its initial run last year, one of the main challenges it faced was being called a propaganda film by influencer Dhruv Rathee.

The YouTuber claimed that the film aims to polish the image of the BJP and called Aditya Dhar a BJP propagandist during the film’s rise to the box office.

Fast forward three months, and Dhurandhar 2 showcased a lot of incidents that took place during Narendra Modi’s reign as the Prime Minister and blended it with the film’s main plot of an Indian spy in Pakistan.

As many fans have loved the content shown in the film and praised the performances of Ranveer Singh and R Madhavan, Dhruv Rathee has once again raised his voice against the propaganda spread by Aditya Dhar.

Despite having low hype initially, Dhurandhar went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time, and a huge chunk of the audience went to the theatres after Dhruv Rathee’s controversial take on the film’s ideology last year.

This time around, the hype is already off the charts, and people have been waiting to witness the sequel for weeks. Rathee once again took to his social media account and posted how he had already called Aditya Dhar a BJP propagandist three months ago.

He further wrote, “Now everyone will see it. It was subtle in the previous film, but he went so blatant this time in overconfidence”. While a lot of users have called Dhurandhar The Revenge a propaganda film to support the ruling party, others have called it commendably made.

Film critic KRK also predicted that Dhruv Rathee would once again target Aditya Dhar for pushing political ideologies in Dhurandhar 2, and the director has even used several real-life videos and instances in the film this time around.

Nevertheless, given its massive hype and excitement, it seems that Dhruv Rathee’s claims this time might not negatively affect the film much, and it might not even force a lot of users to watch the film, as most of the audience have already been waiting to watch the sequel and are looking forward to forming their opinions ahead.
