Toxic Jump, Dhurandhar 2 Solo: What Do Trade Analysts Say?

Dhurandhar 2 release debate after Toxic delay

The biggest discussion online right now is about the release plans of Toxic and Dhurandhar 2. The makers of Toxic recently announced that the film will move to a June release instead of March due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Soon after this announcement, the makers of Dhurandhar 2 also confirmed that the film would be postponed. However, they have not revealed a new release date yet. This decision has triggered debate among trade analysts and film industry observers.

Many analysts are now discussing whether Dhurandhar 2 actually needs to delay its release. Some believe the film could continue with its planned schedule, especially after Toxic moved away from the box office clash.

According to trade experts, Yash’s Toxic has a strong audience base in the Middle East. After the massive success of KGF 2, the actor’s popularity in that region increased significantly. Because of this, a large portion of Toxic overseas collections could come from the Middle East.

In contrast, analysts say Dhurandhar has a different market dynamic. The franchise reportedly has a strong audience in the northern belt of India. Because of this domestic strength, its box office performance may not depend heavily on the Middle East market.

Trade observers also note that the first film in the Dhurandhar franchise did not release in the Middle East. Despite that, the film performed very well in other regions and managed to achieve strong collections at the box office.

With Toxic moving out of the clash window, Dhurandhar 2 could gain a major advantage. Without competition, the film may receive more screens and prime show timings in multiplexes as well as single screen theatres.

Some analysts believe this situation could even help Dhurandhar 2 achieve record breaking collections if it keeps its release plan unchanged. A solo release often helps large commercial films maximise their opening potential.

Experts also point out that the geopolitical tension currently remains limited to the Middle East region. Unless the conflict expands to Europe or North America, its impact on the film’s global box office performance may remain limited.

Because both films target similar audiences, many expected them to follow the same strategy. However, some analysts feel Dhurandhar 2 could instead use this opportunity to capture the market and strengthen its box office potential.
