An unusual incident becomes the catalyst for a series of unexpected events in Chitralayam Studios’ upcoming new-age crime comedy ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’.
Blending crime, comedy, quirky characters and entertaining twists, the film promises to present a refreshing and unconventional narrative.
Presented by Donepudi Chakrapani and produced by Venu Donepudi under the Chitralayam Studios banner, the film is helmed by director Guni Manchikanti.
Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya, Vismayasri, Malvi Malhotra, Kasyap, Raja Ravindra and others form the ensemble cast.
Adding to the film’s appeal is its distinctive production journey. ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ holds the distinction of being the first South Indian film to be shot entirely in Meghalaya.
The makers travelled across the state for the shoot, capturing its scenic beauty, with Cherrapunji among the prominent locations featured in the film.
The teaser, which was released earlier, offered a glimpse into the film’s quirky world and introduced its interesting characters.
The unusual situations, humour, brisk narration and unexpected turns showcased in the teaser have created curiosity about what the film has in store for audiences.
The makers have now officially locked October 9 as the theatrical release date, with the film set to make its way to screens during the Dussehra festive season.
Along with the release date announcement, the team kick-started the musical promotions by unveiling the first lyrical song, ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’, launched by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad.
Devi Sri Prasad praised the song for its energetic and youthful appeal. He also appreciated the team for coming up with a different concept and extended his heartfelt wishes to the cast and crew for a successful release.
‘Aaja Meri Jaani’ Sets the Musical Promotions in Motion
The first single ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’ is a high-energy party track featuring Akshay Lagusani and Vishnu Oi. The song is designed as a colourful visual and musical treat, with vibrant presentation and an upbeat rhythm.
Electronic Kili and Arcado have composed the music, while Kittu Vissapragada has penned the lyrics.
Benny Dayal’s energetic vocals bring an added spark to the song, matching its peppy composition and lively mood.
The catchy beats, youthful flavour and vibrant visuals make ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’ an engaging first single and a promising addition to the film’s promotional campaign.

The post-production work is currently in its final phase, and we are gearing up for a grand theatrical release on October 9 during the Dussehra festive season.
“Completing a South Indian film entirely in Meghalaya is a very special milestone for us. We were fortunate to shoot in some magnificent locations, including Cherrapunji, which has brought a beautiful visual quality to the film.
The entire shoot was completed as planned because of the commitment and cooperation of our team.
