Director Pandiraj, who has recently scored back to back successes with village-based entertainers, Kadaikutty Singam (Chinna Babu in Telugu), and Namma Veettu Pillai, is repeating the formula with Suriya. However, none are complaining as it is a mass outing everyone was waiting for featuring Suriya.
The basic setup looks very routine and beaten to death; however, the villain angle looks unique and different. The link to women could work in ET’s favour if done well.
ET could be in for a big surprise at the box office if the emotional family drama also clicks. Suriya, as usual, looks excellent and doing all he can with interest and energy. The rest of the cast with Priyanka Arul Mohan as heroine also looks good.
ET will also mark the first theatrical release for Suriya after two back to back OTT releases. Sun Pictures produces the movie on a grand scale even though it’s set in a rural backdrop.
