Akshay Kumar Sarfira

Akshay Kumar’s film Sarfira, an official remake of Suriya’s OTT Soorarai Pottru, is set to hit theaters this week, but there’s a twist. The Hindi dubbed version of Soorarai Pottru is scheduled to be released on July 12 on Goldmine Telefilms’ YouTube channel.

This ploy is nothing but to damage the business of Sarfira in theaters. It is unethical on the part of Manish Shah of Goldmines. This is not the first time he has done this. He repeated the same strategy before the release of Shehzada and Bholaa which were remakes of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Kaithi.

Shehzada makers paid him a few crores and requested him not to release the original Telugu version of their film on YouTube. This is nothing but extortion through blackmail.

Since he has the YouTube rights to many South Indian films, Manish Shah releases dubbed versions just before its Hindi remake is ready for release in theaters.

When asked, Manish Shah says that he only understands his business. He said that if he had purchased the rights to the movie, why would someone else decide things on his behalf?

We have to see if Sarfira makers offer him some crores to postpone the Hindi dubbed version of Soorari Pottru on YouTube or not.
