As is the trend nowadays, Singh talked about the incident on his Facebook which then went viral. He mentioned that while this wasn’t his first time dealing with a situation like this, it never occurred in any of the foreign countries he has visited. He said that the “ridiculous request is made only in India” and that Chennai should be more welcoming, considering its already unfriendly reputation in India.

An update in his post stated that in order to rectify their mistake, the CMRL contacted Singh and made an apology for the incident. However, according to a senior official, no such apology or incident occurred and Mr. Singh went through the checking procedure normally.
