Director Shankar recently talked about the failure of Indian 2. It marked his first public comment on the film’s negative response.
In an interview with a Tamil magazine, Shankar expressed surprise over the trolling the film received but mentioned that he had moved on. He also shared updates on Indian 3, which is gearing up for a theatrical release.
Shankar spoke about his upcoming project Game Changer, starring Ram Charan.
He expressed his satisfaction with the film, calling it a “lifetime character” for Ram Charan. Shankar described the movie as a racy, mass commercial thriller with a gripping screenplay.
The plot centers on a face-off between an officer (Ram Charan) and a politician (SJ Suryah).
Shankar opened up about how Game Changer came together, revealing that during the pandemic, he and several directors, including Lingusamy, spent a lot of time chatting over Zoom.
It was in one of these casual chats that Lingusamy threw out the idea of Karthik Subbaraj’s story. Shankar found the outline so intriguing that he immediately decided to take it on.
Shankar’s statement that Game Changer offers a lifetime role for Ram Charan is sure to generate excitement among fans, as Shankar’s words carry weight due to his past collaborations with legends.
However, if the film doesn’t perform well, the statement could backfire.
Game Changer is set for release on January 10, 2024, and will hit a record number of screens.
Shankar has locked the final copy, and post-production is going on in full swing, and producer Dil Raju is excited about the final output. Ram Charan will appear in a double role in this highly anticipated action drama.
