Soft Actress’ TV Show Ends up in Queer Controversy

These days, reality shows in which hosts are acting as judges and counselors for solving the problems of disturbed families are turning controversial. After actress Jeevitha, now it senior actress Geetha who is swallowing the bitter pill of allegedly insulting an LGBTQ couple.

In the show titled ‘Bathuku Jataka Bandi’, two girls and their parents came to resolve their issues. These girls are in love and one of them is an identified transgender who considers himself a male. But, Geetha denies accepting the transgender’s feelings and calls it a shame on the face of society.

The soft actress was seen verbally thrashing the girl, her parents and the transgender for their so called unsocial behavior (according to her, the narrator and the others who were part of the show). The use of words like ‘immoral’ and ‘deviant’ are the reason why the LGBTQ community raising the voice against the actress and the TV programme.

The Queer Community is now criticizing and demanding the channel authorities to apologize publicly. It is reported that a police complaint was also lodged on the makers and the host of the show by the above said community. Isn’t time that reality shows hosts and makers act more responsible towards sensitive issues?
