GHMC elections finalized to happen when settlers are away?

Reports are emerging that the crucial GHMC elections may happen on January 17th, 2016. The corporation had finished the divisions and reservations work. The date is set in a way that the elections will coincide with the Sankranthi holidays.

January 17th is the last day of Sankranthi holiday. Settlers who have gone to their native villages for Sankranthi will only return to Hyderabad the next day and so the date is strategically set to decimate the effect of Settlers.

Opposition parties have sensed this plan of government well in advance and are demanding to set the date after the holidays. But it looks like government is keen on going on with its plan. Reports are emerging that the government is keen to implement 57% reservations for women in this elections.
