These days, with social media running wild and even ordinary people getting plenty of attention online, we see both sane and silly acts going viral. One such incident is connected to the recent film The Girlfriend.
The movie ends with Rashmika’s character removing her dupatta (dress chunni) and delivering a bold message to her boyfriend who had humiliated her. She admits that she kissed him and slept with him, and now, by admitting it openly, she declares that he no longer he has any power to hurt her.
Recently, during a theatre visit by director Rahul Ravindran, a young woman approached him, removed her dupatta, and said that the film had given her the courage to face the world. The video of this moment is now going viral, drawing a wave of sarcastic and funny comments online.
But the question remains: what does removing a dupatta have to do with gaining courage from the movie? If that’s the message she took from it, it’s quite silly and shows how some of today’s youth tend to go overboard in public when influenced by films or celebrities. Watch the video below to see the extent of her misplaced enthusiasm.
