Tollywood had occasionally been hit by political storms with the most significant one being the effect of YSR Congress on the industry while Jagan was CM.
Jagan brought in unreasonably stern limitations on ticket prices and ticket arrangements. Seeking ticket hikes was a tiring task for makers as they had to spend hours together in the CMO. Additional shows were anyway a gone case.
But thanks to the shift in government, the film industry is breathing a sigh of relief. The same could be seen in the case of Devara which readily got necessary permissions from the AP government.
The famed early morning and benefit shows culture is finally back in Tollywood again thanks to the new government. The fact that Devara is heading for 1 AM shows proves the same.
This proactive verdict by the AP government has in a way rubbed positively in Telangana as well. The Telangana government, which is usually skeptical about early morning shows has selectively permitted 1 AM shows for Devara.
In that case, biggies like Pushpa 2, Game Changer, and other biggies that will be arriving in the due course could be massively benefited by the scheme of things.
If this is a sign of things to come, Tollywood could be bustling under the two Telugu state governments by securing necessary permissions for shows and ticket prices. This will go on for at least five more years till the two governments are in power and could extend beyond that if both of them retain power again.
