I didn't misuse Mahesh Babu

Superstar Mahesh Babu did back to back films with film maker Gunasekhar trusting him and giving him all the creative freedom. The first film in their combination ‘Okkadu’ changed the fate of Mahesh Babu and gave him ultimate stardom. But the other two films ‘Arjun’ and ‘Sainikudu’ didn’t live up to the expectations.

Till date Mahesh gave no director three back to back chances. Did Gunasekhar misuse it? This is the obvious doubt which comes to our mind. But Gunasekhar denies such allegations. He says, “After Okkadu blockbuster success, I got many opportunities from other big banners but accepted Mahesh’s movie ‘Arjun’ under the superstar’s home banner only because Mahesh is a director’s artist.”

‘Mahesh always encourages any director who gives sincere effort regarding work”, says the director. ‘Arjun’ remained an above average cinema because it was compared to ‘Okkadu’ and hence couldn’t live up to the hype. Though he gave his 100% to ‘Sainikudu’, audiences didn’t like the story reasons Guna.
