Guru US Box Office Puzzling Trade

The box office performance of Guru is puzzling, to say the least for the trade. The performance of the sports drama in the US is the reason for this.

Well-reviewed films do well in the overseas market. However, despite glowing reviews and praise, Guru is failing to take off in the US. The Venkatesh starrer has so far collected only $ 139K for the weekend. It is poor by any standards as even films like Drishyam, and Babu Bangaram got better numbers.

The scenario is entirely different in the Telugu states where after a robust weekend, Guru is consolidating in the weekdays. The first Monday numbers are good, and with Sri Ramanavami holiday ahead, it is expected to continue the solid run.
