Hitech Babu may be the title of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu but his Telangana counterpart is going more hitech way these days. The government is currently planning 3502 buses in Telangana with GPS facility. The government is also planning advanced options like a system to track the delays of the buses and informing passengers through SMS alerts.
Passengers can track any particular bus in Telangana with a mobile application. All that the commuters have to do is to install the app in their mobiles and key in the four-digit code of that particular bus stop with the required bus route number. They will immediately receive the details of bus timings and delays if any. The project will be called the Hyderabad Intelligent Transportation System (HITS) and will cost the state exchequer a sum of 17 Crores. A pilot project of this in Koti-Kondapur route is already conducted.
