The music magician Ilayaraja has been bestowed the second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan. The news has brought joy to the admirers of the musician as the government announced one of the most prestigious awards for Ilayaraja.

He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2010 and now the next stratum. Center gave out the Padma award delegates for the republic day. Ilayaraja gave tunes to more than five thousand songs not only in Tamil but also in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
