Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game has not found the expected traction in the Telugu states.
The film opened to around ₹5.05 crore across India on Day 1, but the collection slipped to roughly ₹4.60 crore on Day 2, a 14.8% drop. The Telugu occupancy was around 29.5% on Friday, which is hardly the kind of jump the film needed after its opening day.
The response has also been mixed. Dulquer Salman has his share of recognition among Telugu audiences, but that familiarity has not translated into strong theatrical turnout for I’m Game so far.
That is the worrying part. A film with a known lead usually needs the second day to show some improvement or, at the very least, hold steady. I’m Game has gone the other way.
The weekend will tell the real story. If the Telugu numbers remain around these levels, it will be difficult for the film to make much ground in the market. For now, I’m Game is clearly below expectations in the Telugu states.
