Following the back to back failures of Indian 2 and Game Changer, Shankar has not yet announced his next project. However, strong reports suggest that the director is going to immediately start his dream project, Velpari.
A few weeks ago, some inside sources reported that Shankar informed Lyca Productions he is moving on to Velpari and has given them time to decide whether they want to finish and release Indian 3 soon.
In this scenario, since Indian 2 ended up as a terrible disappointment and no one is interested in its sequel, Indian 3, Lyca Productions does not want to spend any more money on the project. However, since some portions of the film remain to be shot, they reportedly want Kamal Haasan and Shankar to use some of the salary they were already paid for Indian 2 to cover the costs.
