Irumudi US: Ravi Teja Eyes First $1M Film in Flat 5 Days?

Ravi Teja in Irumudi US box office run

Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has opened to a very encouraging response in North America, with the numbers already pointing towards a massive turnaround for him in the US market.

The film has collected around $463K from North America premieres and Day 1 combined, with approximately $275K coming from premieres and another $188K from Day 1. The North American breakeven target is around $750K. If the current trend continues, Irumudi could cross that mark by Sunday morning, which would be a fantastic result considering Ravi Teja’s previous overseas track record.

The film is now eyeing an even bigger milestone. Irumudi could become Ravi Teja’s first $1 million film in North America, potentially reaching the mark by Tuesday if the momentum holds.

Irumudi has emerged as Ravi Teja’s biggest overseas opener, surpassing his previous highest full run overseas gross within its opening day itself. The film’s approximate overseas opening-day gross stands at around $600K, or Rs. 5.7 crore.

The film also carries the highest overseas business of Ravi Teja’s career. The film needs around $1 million overseas to reach the required target, and at the current pace, that looks very achievable.

The word of mouth is positive and the trend is looking solid. That gives Irumudi a genuine chance to go beyond the HIT zone and potentially turn into a blockbuster. The big question now is how far it can actually go.

However, there is one major threat waiting around the corner. Yash’s Toxic arrives on Wednesday, August 26.

Irumudi has only a few days before another massive, supposedly global release enters the market. Its theatrical run could therefore be heavily affected or even cut short in some centres.

The film has already achieved something Ravi Teja has been waiting for a long time: a strong opening in the overseas and a genuine positive trend. Now, it needs to maximize every remaining day before Toxic arrives.
