There is growing discussion in Tollywood about whether the production banner for the upcoming Chiranjeevi-Bobby Kolli film is going to change. Reports suggest that the movie launch may happen in the next few days, which makes this development even more interesting. Industry insiders say this possible change is not happening out of choice but because of unavoidable circumstances.
So far, KVN Productions, a banner based in Karnataka, is the producer. However, if everything does not go as planned, either another banner may join KVN Productions, or an entirely new production house may take over the project. The main reason behind this uncertainty is said to be Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan.
As we know, Jana Nayagan, produced by KVN Productions and directed by H. Vinoth, has run into serious trouble. The film has not yet received its censor certificate, and legal cases are still pending. The production house has been moving between the High Court and the Supreme Court, and there is no clear indication of when the film will be released. Because of this legal uncertainty, the production team is reportedly unable to focus on new projects.
At the same time, KVN Productions is also busy with Yash’s upcoming film Toxic, which is nearing release. Managing one stalled film and another film close to release has added pressure on the banner. On top of that, the budget and financial settlements related to Jana Nayagan are still not fully resolved. In such a situation, starting a new big-budget film could lead to financial complications.
Because of all these factors, Bobby’s film has landed in a rare producer-related problem. Earlier, the project was supposed to be produced by Mythri Movie Makers, but they reportedly declined due to various reasons.
Now, if KVN Productions also steps away, the big question is who will take over the project. Normally, People Media Factory is known for stepping in during such takeovers. However, sources say that even they are not in a very strong position at the moment after the losses they suffered with Prabhas’ Raja Saab. This makes the situation even more uncertain, and the industry is closely watching how this high-profile project moves forward.
